Moree East Public School

Moree East Public School is situated in the north-west of New South Wales. The population of Moree has been in steady decline during the last few years and this has impacted on school enrolments. The majority of students at Moree are of Aboriginal descent and proud of their Gammilaroy heritage. The school's statement of purpose is, 'to develop each student towards being an effective person in society'. Students are to be nurtured in a safe, supportive environment and encouraged to strive for excellence. Basic to this purpose is the development of skills, knowledge and values that will enable the students to read, write and be competent in mathematics. Technology is an integral component of all student learning experiences. The You Can Do It program assists our students to develop high self-esteem, empathy for others, a willingness to do their best and to have an appreciation of their responsibilities as members of society. The school will work in harmony with the school community in providing an environment conducive to learning, with an equality of opportunity for students with different abilities and backgrounds to achieve the goals of the school.
