Deniliquin South Public School is a rural primary school of 282 students situated in south-west Riverina. It is a school that provides a safe and happy environment in which students are challenged and inspired to grow and learn.The staff are committed to academic excellence and high achievement.Teacher professional learning focuses on strengthening teaching skills and the ability of teachers to support and enhance each other to improve student outcomes.There is a strong emphasis on providing a diverse and challenging curriculum for our students supported with state of the art interactive technologies in all classrooms. A strong partnership exists between Deniliquin South Public School and its parent body. This partnership reflects shared and common values that we, as parents and teachers, instil and nurture in our students so they will develop the skills necessary to become productive and proud young Australians.

New public preschool: New public preschool at Deniliquin South Public School

As part of the NSW Government’s plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering a historic $1.4 billion for new and upgraded schools in regional NSW. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education. As part of the plan to rebuild essential services, the NSW Government has invested $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools, including building a new preschool at every new government primary school in NSW, to boost access to preschool across the state. Early planning is underway to consider the needs of the local area now and into the future to ensure the right preschool is designed for the community. Design professionals are in the process of being engaged, site due diligence activities will be underway in the coming months. We will share information throughout this project and update this dedicated project page to keep everyone informed about the progress we are making. Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
