Illawong Public School

Illawong Public School is a small community school set in beautiful natural bushland. The school strives for excellence through the individual development of students in acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which enable them to become responsible members of society. The school endeavours to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning and make it a lifelong process. The school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities such as dance, PSSA, steel and instrumental bands, guitar, violin, choir and debating. The school's academic focus is on Literacy, Numeracy and Technology, which are taught within a strong quality teaching framework. The school offers opportunities for leadership through Student Parliament. The school is part of the Community of Schools between the River (made up of eight public schools), which provides opportunities for the Gifted and Talented and also provides excellent opportunities for transition to school at all levels of education. Our strong relationship between the local preschools enables a positive start to school when children enter kindergarten.
