Manly Vale Public School

Manly Vale Public School is a dynamic, well- resourced school located in a peaceful environment adjacent to Manly Dam. The school has recently undergone a rebuild to accommodate 40 home bases all with flexible learning spaces, a modern library with two meeting rooms and adjoining technology hubs, and a new school hall that has both indoor and outdoor seating for up to 1000 students.  Manly Vale Public School has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its teaching and learning programs. The school has achieved excellent results in the NAPLAN tests, and University of NSW external competitions. There is a coordinated and strategic approach to gifted and talented education run by the Higher Order Thinking team. Interactive smart boards are in every classroom and there is a 1:1 device to student ratio within the school. Specialist programs operate in dance, gymnastics, band, choir, public speaking, debating and chess. The school is a member of the Northern Beaches Learning Alliance (NBLA) linking with 13 local schools to provide a collaborative approach to professional learning and an ability to coordinate and share resources, teaching expertise amongst the local public schools. The playground encompasses a hectare of bushland, featuring diverse flora and fauna, walking trails and direct access to a State National Park. It has a strong, environmental focus and many energy saving features including solar panels and the recycling of waste programs. The Learning Support Team co- ordinates and implements programs for students with special needs. A strong student- focussed welfare system is in place including a Kindergarten to Year 6 Student Representative Council, peer support, buddy classes and a peer reading program. An active School Council, and Parents and Citizens Association operate. All classrooms have reverse cycle air conditioning. Parents, teachers, community members and students work together in this cohesive, supportive and caring environment
