Warilla Public School
Warilla Public School is located in the Illawarra, 25 kilometres south of Wollongong.The school enrolment for 2016 is 2018 students across K to 6 which includes 23 indigenous students. Warilla P S was on the Priority Schools Program and had been included in the National Partnerships- Numeracy program(2009-2011) and Improving Literacy and Numeracy National Partnership program(2013-2014). The school's primary purpose is to enhance student Literacy and Numeracy learning outcomes through quality teaching programs, using technology, which have been well supported through its inclusion in both the PSP and National Partnerships Programs.The school is characterised by a committed and stable staff. The school participates in the 'You Can do It' social skills program which teaches persistence, organisation, confidence, getting along and resilience. This program fully supports our school motto 'We Work as a Team'. The school aims to promote and develop an inclusive whole school learning community. The school is working to extend its creative and practical arts program, building upon its success in 'Wakakirri'-National Dance Competition, Wollongong Schools' Music Festival and Junior Music Festival. At Warilla P.S collective teacher responsibility, pastoral care and high expectations are valued and evident.
