Waverley PS' vision statement is 'create a supportive environment that celebrates a love of learning and inspires our students to realise their full potential'. Our energetic, community-focused school provides a comprehensive broad-based and enriched curriculum. We strive to ensure that each child is provided with a fully-tailored educational program which encourages each child to reach his or her full potential socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally. This is achieved by providing a supportive, nurturing environment in which the successful attainment of individual goals is recognised. Classes are structured to recognise talented students and meet the needs of those with learning difficulties. Students are encouraged and supported to work independently, to develop co-operation, to take learning risks and to self-evaluate. Waverley PS has a diverse, supportive community. Parents and students are impressed by the caring family approach, positive involvement in the school, the convenience of transport, the spacious grounds and rooms, specialist programs (including Italian, Music and Art)and special programs (Buddy program, peer support, interactive whiteboards and drama).
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
