Maclean Public School

Maclean Public School has a current enrolment of 165 students and is a member of the Lower Clarence Community of schools. The school is located in the riverside township of Maclean and acknowledges the traditional landowners, the Yaegl people. Maclean Public School is committed to the pursuit of excellence: excellence in learning, excellence in teaching and excellence in leading. Its talented teachers and administrative staff work together to provide high quality educational opportunities for each and every child. An impressive variety of core academic and extracurricular programs are offered including Debating, Chess, Public Speaking, the Kitchen Garden Program, School Expo, a year long Transition to School Program, STEM MakerSpace, Musical Eisteddfods, School Parliament, Student Leadership Programs, Gifted and Talented Programs in Music and Information and Communication Technologies, Premier's Spelling Bee, Sporting and Reading Challenges, Film Production, Swimming for Sport and PSSA knockouts in rugby league, touch football, soccer, netball, cricket and tennis. All students are involved in the Creative and Performing Arts with every child particpating in an extensive class based music program with a specialist teacher. Regular performance opportunities for all children are offered in instrument ensembles, choirs and theatrical groups. Students go "on tour" with an annual performance at the Sydney Opera House and regular forays locally. At Maclean Public School we deliver a quality education that caters for the academic, sporting, leadership and cultural endeavours of all our students: from the gifted and talented through to the enthusiast and the special needs learner. We have created positive and productive home/school partnerships and value both the Maclean School and Maclean Township Communites. Our expectations for student academic performance  and behaviour are high and we have a sense of pride in the school and its achievements.
