East Hills Public School

East Hills Public School is a small school situated in extensive lush grounds in a well established community enjoying strong links with both East Hills Girls and East Hills Boys Technology High Schools. Our school is staffed by enthusiastic and dedicated teachers with a range of experiences who value team work, collaborative decision making and staff participation. All our staff enjoy the full support and commitment of the parents, care givers and the local community. The school promotes excellence in education by providing a quality balanced curriculum with a major focus on literacy and numeracy. Students' individual needs are also met through specialist programs providing a range of opportunities for all students to achieve their personal best. The District Support Class Language is situated at our school and we also provide education for students with autism having three specialist support classes in our support unit. All students have regular access to technology with both our classrooms and our computer laboratory providing the latest computer technology and internet access. Our Parents and Citizens Association meet regularly as well as operate a school canteen three days each week.

LED Upgrade

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
