Cardiff South Public School
Respect ~ Responsibility ~ Excellence Cardiff South is a proud Public School which is welcoming and community focussed. We provide quality learning experiences in a caring and supportive environment which is situated in a quiet corner of Cardiff South with two grassed playing fields, tall trees and well-maintained gardens. At the commencement of the 2025 school year, we have twelve mainstream classes K-6 and two classes in our Public Preschool which operate on a rotational basis 5 days per fortnight. The school's total P-6 enrolment for 2025 is approximately 330. Our parents and teachers share a common purpose - the academic progress and personal development of each individual child. All members of our school community are Respectful, Responsible Learners who strive for Excellence in everything we do. Cardiff South Public School offers a broad curriculum and a diverse range of extra-curricular activities which students are encouraged to engage with. These include public speaking and debating, Premier's Reading Challenge, PSSA Sport, pre-school buddy program, Kindergarten Orientation, Transition to High School, Starstruck, school choir, and student led activities such as Chess Club. Our community has given strong endorsement to our school plan and our focus on Excellence in Learning and Wellbeing. Our school has large grassed playing fields, beautiful gardens, large sandpit, junior and senior play/exercise equipment and numerous outdoor environment learning spaces, including vegetable gardens and water saving devices. Our school hall has state of the art audio and lighting and is a regular venue for performance, gymnastics and indoor sport. Cardiff South OOSH operates morning, afternoon and vacation care onsite and is very popular among our students. Our school is well-resourced with a broad range of technology which eliminates the need for devices being brought from home. We have a welcoming P&C which runs our canteen, uniform shop, and fund-raising activities throughout the year. We have a proactive Learning Support Team which helps to identify and support the needs of all students. Our core goal is always to improve the educational and social outcomes for each and every one of our students and to equip them with the skills that they will need for living and working in the 21st century. In 2025 we will implement the second year of The Anxiety Project to help students and their families overcome barriers caused by anxiour behaviours.
