Greenwell Point P.S. is a proud member of the Shoalhaven River Learning Community and enjoys an excellent reputation. The school motto of 'Learning and Working Together'ensures that the parents, teachers and students are learning in a motivated caring school. As a village school it has a unique family style atmosphere with strong community support.The school has a native garden, chicken coop and vegetable garden as part of the Environmental Education program.The large grassed play area with play equipment,cricket pitch, netball area and soccer area provides a safe and enriching outdoor experience for the students. At school we aim to recognise the worth of each student while ensuring a comprehensive educational experience which enhances the intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development. The school's stated aim is 'to provide an environment which fosters positive values and attitudes towards education and heightened educational values' so all students develop to their potential.The cooperative nature of the interaction between student's staff and parents is highly valued by the Greenwell Point community.

New public preschool: Greenwell Point Public Preschool

As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools. This targeted investment includes building public preschools at new government primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. The 100 new public preschools will be co-located on public school sites, including new and redeveloped school sites, helping more children access a preschool program before starting school. Work is underway for a new public preschool at Greenwell Point Public School. The proposed location of the preschool is situated on the east side of the school, accessible from Jervis Street. The new public preschool will provide a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 40 children per day.

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
