Dubbo West Public School

Dubbo West Public School operates across a split site 0.75 km apart. The school has an enrolment in 2016 of 317, with 53% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has a Preschool in operation with an enrolment of 40.The Schools as Community Centre facilitator (0.4) is continuing. This program involves liaison with the local school community on a variety of social issues that will have a positive impact on student attendance and family harmony. There are seven classes on the Infants' campus and seven classes on the Primary site. The school has an Opportunity Class (OC) that caters for Gifted and Talented children from the Dubbo District, an IM class,  and offers a program in Aboriginal language and culture. The school is under the Priority Schools Program (PSP), providing a 0.3 staffing entitlement which is used as a technology component. The school will continue to participate in the EA4S (Early Action for Success program)in 2016.  The school boasts a broad range of extra-curricular activities which include school band, choir, public speaking, debating and dedicated technology and music and drama programs.
