Yerong Creek Public School

Yerong Creek Public School is a small school central to much community interaction. The school is supported by an active Parents and Citizens Association and the wider community in general. The curriculum has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, as well as in the development of shared decision making skills and responsibility among students. The school provides a positive and rewarding education for children in multi-age classes, developing students academically, socially and emotionally. Yerong Creek Public School is actively involved in the Greater Kengal Network of Small Schools. The students particpate in sporting, cultural and academic events with students from Pleasant Hills Public Schhol and Boree Creek Public School. The staff from the three schools join together for professional learning opportunities. The school ensures the students are provided with various opportunities. All students in Years 3-6 participate in debating and public speaking. The school has a focus on the teaching of values. The school rules are based on the value of respect.
