Warialda Public School

Warialda Public School was established in 1851, making it one of the oldest schools in New South Wales. The school serves the township of Warialda and surrounding rural areas in the Gwydir Shire. The present student population is 199, with more than half of the students travelling to school by bus. The school has a spacious playground with well-equipped classrooms and a dedicated staff. There is a strong emphasis placed on literacy and numeracy, and students have access to the services of highly skilled, committed teachers; school counsellor and School Learning Support Officers. Many other programs operate to address social, emotional, cultural and sporting pursuits. These include: Out of the Box (Project-Based Learning), STEMShare, QuickSmart Numeracy, Intensive Literacy and Numeracy Support, Speech Therapy, National Chaplaincy Program, Breakfast Room, PBL program, junior band, choir, interest clubs and educational excursions. Warialda Public School is recognised as a school that encourages teaching innovation and has a strong emphasis on the integration of technology, higher-order thinking and quality teaching.
