South Wagga Public School

Our vision at South Wagga Public School is to provide high quality inclusive educational experiences and a diverse range of opportunities, across all facets of schooling. The school promotes equity and excellence in order to build the capacity of all students to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed global citizens. Our Stragtegic Directions focus on high quiality student learning, strong community partnerships and high performing staff. The school achieves its vision through the dedication of its staff who foster an open and well-structured environment where independence, self-discipline, tolerance and respect are encouraged. South Wagga Public School has an outstanding record of achievement in NAPLAN, University of NSW tests, and other academic competitions. Students are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and sporting competitions with excellent results. Extra curricula activities support the curriculum; these include choir, debating, chess, environmental education, public speaking, drama and dance. The students participate in a variety of sports and have excelled with the school winning a number of state titles and students being selected to represent the Riverina and NSW PSSA. A significant feature of the school is the computer centre housed on the mezzanine floor of the school library. This facility, together with laptops in classrooms, ensures that increasing usage of technology in teaching and learning is evident across the school. As a heritage school, we take pride in its history, which now spans more than 125 years.
