Tyalgum Public School
The central purpose of Tyalgum Public School is to provide learning experiences and opportunities which enable all students to gain access to knowledge and develop the skills required for full, active and fruitful participation in society. The school values and encourages students to strive for excellence in all areas of human growth. Literacy skill development has continued to be a focus of the school. This focus has been supported by the Priority Schools Program. Quality student learning is a feature of the school. It is achieved through participation in a whole school plan which provides individual support and allows for a degree of specialisation by members of staff. So too is the students' involvement in environmental care, exposure to a range of sporting and fitness activities, their access to internet through information and communication technology and their involvement in a Korean language program. The school is an integral part of the Tyalgum community and acknowledges the valued support it receives.
Cooler Classrooms Program
The NSW Government is committed to providing students with healthy and comfortable learning environments. That’s why we’ve invested a record $500 million to provide a sustainable air conditioning program for NSW schools.
To ensure the NSW Government responds to the needs of students in the hottest parts of the State, we will provide air conditioning in classrooms and libraries at schools that experience a mean maximum January temperature of 30°C and above.
Schools that sit below 30°C will be able to apply for funding to receive air conditioning in their classrooms and libraries, allowing more schools to benefit from air conditioning than ever before.
This school is eligible to apply for funding through the Cooler Classrooms Program. Applications for the second round of funding are now closed.
