Sans Souci Public School
Sans Souci Public School strives to provide academic, cultural and sporting excellence. In its caring and supportive environment, children develop the skills and knowledge to achieve their full potential and the confidence and flexibility to grow and prosper in an ever changing world. Established in 1885, our school has a strong educational tradition and has played an active role at the centre of the community for over 126 years. Community involvement in many school activities is a central part of the school's success. Parental involvement is actively sought in school decision- making and fundraising via our Parents and Citizens meetings. While teaching and learning in literacy and numeracy is a major focus, students are offered a wide variety of extra curricular programs in creative and performing arts, technology and sport. The school also has outstanding programs in community languages (42% Greek background), and ESL. Two full time Greek teachers provide a rigorous Greek language program to students of Greek background, whilst the other students are offered a choice between Greek and French. Sans Souci Public School has strong student welfare programs and policies designed to promote the respectful relationships within the school community.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
