Ryde Public School
Our school has been proudly and successfully serving the Ryde community for 143 years. The school has both historic sandstone buildings, which are State Heritage listed and state of the art purpose built 21st century classrooms. These outstanding buildings are set among spacious, well-maintained grounds. The first Arbour Day planting took place here, in 1890, and many large old trees continue to flourish. The students learn in an environment that values this rich past, enriches the present, and prepares them for a dynamic, changing and challenging future. Ryde Public School strives to provide a learning environment that is exciting, active, caring and connected to the children's lives. Engaging children in learning is the school's principal aim. Academic, cultural and social skills programs provide a balance that seeks to allow each child to thrive and embrace lifelong learning. Ryde Public School is proud of its cultural diversity with students attending from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds. The school supports diverse learning needs with several specialist programs, including two Opportunity Classes and three support classes for students with specific learning requirements. In addition we provide specialist English as second language programs, community language and learning support programs.
