Rous Public School

Rous Public School is situated in a rural area, in close proximity to the North Coast towns of Alstonville, Ballina and Lismore. The school is all that remains outside of a once thriving pioneering village and is situated in farmland a few kilometres away from Rous Mill. As a result, the school serves as a focal point for the community. The aim of the school, in conjunction with the local community, is to create a safe and happy learning environment that will equip all students with the skills to participate successfully in both their childhood and adult lives. The school reflects and actively supports the strong family values that are upheld by the local community. The goals of the school are achieved by providing experiences designed to develop each child's intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual growth. The school strives to meet each child's individual needs. The positive interaction between the parents and school staff is prized. This interaction facilitates the learning process both within and outside the classroom.
