Rossmore Public School

The school is located amongst two-hectare properties on busy Bringelly Road. It serves a semi-rural community, catering for a divergence of occupations. Our current school population of around 150 embraces fourteen different nationalities. Our purpose is to provide a safe, happy, inclusive and caring school environment, where teachers and parents work harmoniously together, while giving opportunities which allow all children to develop to their full potential. The well being of each student is at the centre of all decisions. Rossmore Public School recognises the importance of ensuring that students, staff and parents work together as a learning community and take responsibility to improve the learning outcomes for all students. The school has high expectations of its students and teachers and provides a stimulating and challenging learning environment with a committed focus on literacy and numeracy. Parent participation in school decision-making and planning is highly regarded and valued in our learning community. Parents actively support learning programs and special events throughout the year and the P and C contribute towards providing additional resources for the school.

This school’s intake area is changing

As places grow and change over time, it becomes necessary for the department to adjust local enrolment intake areas. Intake area changes are happening to better align student populations with the sizes of our schools, ensuring students continue to have access to high-quality public education.

The intake area is changing for all new enrolments from January 2026.

Yes, they can. There is no change for students already attending this school.

I have a child already attending this school. Can I enrol their sibling/s at the same school?

Siblings of currently enrolled students will be assessed under the departments enrolment policy .

Families with a child currently enrolled at their assigned local school will retain the ability to enrol siblings at the same school, even if there are changes to the intake area boundaries that make their home address out-of-area.

How are new intake areas developed?

Many factors are considered to inform the development of new intake areas for example:

- enrolment trends

- opportunities to align with primary school local intake areas

- public transport access

- the size and utilisation rate of schools

- the number of students living in each proposed intake area

- and the physical capacity of schools to enrol students

LED Upgrade

The $157.8 million LED Lighting Upgrade Program will install new LED lights in up to 1,000 public schools across NSW. This means reduced operating costs for schools and improved learning environments and outcomes for our students.

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
