Rockley Public School

Rockley Public School is situated in the historic village of Rockley, 33 kilometres south of Bathurst. Exceptional Teaching and Learning programs that develop the whole child both academically and socially are provided in the K to 6 setting. As well as attending to Syllabi outcomes at stage appropriate levels the school provides extracurricular activities including: individual musicianship lessons delivered by a specialist teacher, structured classroom sessions teaching Robotics and computer assisted design, culminating in entry to the University of New South Wales State Robocup Competition on an annual basis, and is part of the Bathurst Small schools group who aim to expand student sporting and social opportunities. The school has in place Discipline and Anti-bullying policies which are developed through parent community and student involvement and collaboration. The school practises environmental sustainability through its environmental policies of recycling, worm farming, mini orchard and vegetable gardens and participation in the Keep Australia Beautiful campaign. The classroom not only includes an Interactive White Board for teacher and student use but has the capabilities to participate in virtual excursions through our connected classroom and there is an emphasis on integrating this technology across all curricula. Year 6 leaders also have access to the latest technology in the form of iPads. The school has an extensive Library collection to suit all stages and topics. The school also boasts excellent playground facilities including weather shed, walkways, sandpit , modular equipment with soft fall and large cemented playing and assembly area, all covered in line with our Sunsmart policy. Parent and community visits to the classroom for special student presentations and Open Days are always well attended.
