Murrurundi Public School
Murrurundi Public School, at the top end of the Hunter Valley, is one of the oldest schools in NSW, turning 160 years old in 2009. During 1999, students, staff and the community thoroughly enjoyed celebrating its sesquicentenary. Students and staff are committed to creating a positive and caring environment in which to teach and learn. Our Mission Statement, 'Developing Pride In Our Heritage and Confidence In Our Future,' states that we want our students to be proud of themselves, proud of their families and backgrounds and proud of their country, and to develop caring attitudes towards one another. The school provides stimulating learning programs which, through meeting each student's individual needs, offers them success. The school curriculum is well rounded and promotes a love of learning. The basic skills of literacy and numeracy are strongly emphasised.
