Mount Pritchard Public School

Mount Pritchard Public School is situated in the south west of Sydney and is part of the Fairfield Network of Schools. The school is well equipped with a modern library, hall, technology and film making room, newly refurbished and computer-networked classrooms, an interconnected classroom and all classes have electronic smartboards. The school occupies spacious grounds of over 3 hectares with modern play surfaces,playequipment and outdoor musical instruments. Mount Pritchard Public School is staffed by an enthusiastic and dedicated staff who join with a suppportive and involved community to create a high quality, safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment. Teachers provide a well-balanced curriculum that caters for individual talents, interests and areas of need. Quality teaching and learning is a school-wide focus. Programs in literacy, numeracy and other key learning areas, combine with programs in social skills and personal development to ensure that students are focussed on the importance of being lifelong learners. Demountables

New public preschool: Mount Pritchard Public Preschool

As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools. This targeted investment includes building public preschools at new government primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. The 100 new public preschools will be co-located on public school sites, including new and redeveloped school sites, helping more children access a preschool program before starting school. Work is underway for a new public preschool at Mount Pritchard Public School. The new public preschool will provide a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 40 children per day.

LED Upgrade

The $157.8 million LED Lighting Upgrade Program will install new LED lights in up to 1,000 public schools across NSW. This means reduced operating costs for schools and improved learning environments and outcomes for our students.

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
