Mortdale Public School

Mortdale Public School provides a safe, secure learning environment for approximately 330 students. With approximately half our students coming from a language background other than English. We believe learning is a life-long process which encompasses academic, social, creative and emotional development. Results obtained through school-based and external assessments inform teaching and learning literacy and numeracy programs including our Gifted and Talented Program, and the effective allocation of resources to best meet the needs of all students. Our school embraces new technologies including interactive whiteboards to provide the best learning experiences for all students. We have achieved significant success in performing arts programs through our school bands, choirs, ballroom dance program, tuned percussion ensemble and school musical. We also enjoy sporting success through our comprehensive school sport program whilst providing opportunities for our talented athletes through PSSA and other representative opportunities. Our school enjoys strong community involvement and support ensuring the best educational programs we can provide.

Cooler Classrooms Program

The NSW Government is committed to providing students with healthy and comfortable learning environments. That’s why we’ve invested a record $500 million to provide a sustainable air conditioning program for NSW schools.

To ensure the NSW Government responds to the needs of students in the hottest parts of the State, we will provide air conditioning in classrooms and libraries at schools that experience a mean maximum January temperature of 30°C and above.

Schools that sit below 30°C will be able to apply for funding to receive air conditioning in their classrooms and libraries, allowing more schools to benefit from air conditioning than ever before.

This school is eligible to apply for funding through the Cooler Classrooms Program. Applications for the second round of funding are now closed.
