Marsden Park Public School
A distinctive feature of Marsden Park Public School, which is 120 years old and hosts a building which has been claimed as a heritage item, is that it is able to offer students a country atmosphere which fosters a closeness and unity. The school aims to provide the best possible learning environment by promoting positive partnerships within the whole school community through promoting, in the classroom and in the playground, high expectations of achievement, developing student self-esteem through recognising and rewarding pupil success, encouraging students to develop confidence and self-discipline, encouraging staff and community to participate in the decision-making process and implementing programs which provide the opportunity for students to participate in a variety of learning experiences. Our experienced staff use their specific expertise and interests to enhance student learning by teaching specific subjects across grades and in some subject areas across the school, thus providing students with variety. We balance these learning experiences with environmental responsibilities. Our school has large native gardens, worm farms, vegetable gardens, an orchard and a chicken coop.
