Long Flat Public School
Long Flat Public School is a small rural school situated in a picturesque valley 35km west of Wauchope along the Oxley Highway. The school boasts a large playground, two tennis courts and an adventure playground. The students come from either the small village of Long Flat itself or the surrounding area. The school is extremely well-equipped with resources for all curriculum areas. The community is very supportive of the school and attend the many functions which are held throughout the year. The school is on the Priority School Funding Program which allows us to provide additional support for students with high needs or talents in priority areas. With small student numbers, strong supportive parent involvement and a dedicated staff, Long Flat Public School is a school with high academic and sporting achievements. The school has a particular emphasis on literacy, numeracy, student welfare and sporting programs, providing a good balance between academic, social and physical development. The school has won the district public speaking competition twice in the past three years. Our students are given opportunities to participate in many sporting activities, carnivals and gala days.
