Leura Public School
Leura Public School is situated in the World Heritage area of the upper Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. The school has a total enrolment of 234 from a largely Anglo–Saxon background. Our school community values a positive approach to student wellbeing and a strong focus on learning, with opportunities for diverse experiences, particularly in the arts, sport and environmental education.The school is well supported by parents and families at special events, in classrooms, and through fundraising opportunities. Our school expects students to be encouraged to do their best, to have a voice and for their success to be celebrated. Staff and parents recognise the need for clear, consistent expectations and procedures that support effective communication, authentic collaboration and responsive relationships. We have a unique bond with our local schools through the Upper Blue Mountains Learning Community, which aims to provide a range of positive experiences for our students, staff, parents and families as well as build a strong sense of community spirit.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
