At LPS the staff works exceptionally hard to provide a diverse range of opportunities for all.Numeracy and literacy are key academic focus areas and there are a number of successful programs operating within the school to cater for student development in these areas as well as the other Key Learning Areas (KLA).The school believes in providing students with a 'well rounded' education and as a result a vast range of other opportunities are provided. LPS has an excellent reputation in sporting participation and results. Fitness and healthy lifestyle choices are key components of the school operation.LPS offers students opportunities in dance, drama, singing, debating, chess, eco-gardening and other cultural pursuits. Recent representation in Schools Spectacular, Riverina Dance Festival, KROP, Premiers Spelling Bee, Premiers Debating Challenge and chess tournaments highlights this.All classrooms have interactive whiteboards and also have access to video conferencing facilities so as to enable students to be at the 'cutting edge' of learning. Recently students attended a 'virtual excursion' to The Great Barrier Reef. All teachers have been and continue to attend professional development activities so as to stay abreast of the most up-to-date teaching methods.The school aims to provide quality education with an experienced, dedicated staff strongly committed to high standards, personal excellence and modern trends. LPS is situated in close proximity to tertiary and secondary facilities, sharing a multipurpose centre with the high school.

New public preschool,100 new public preschools: Leeton Public Preschool

As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools, co-located with public primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. This is the largest investment in public preschools in NSW history, helping more children access a preschool program before starting school. Work is underway for a new public preschool at Leeton Public School. The new public preschool will provide a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 40 children per day.

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
