Laurieton Public School
Laurieton Public School is a small school set in a friendly and attractive coastal community. The school has a long and proud tradition of providing excellent education in a caring environment. The positive emphasis of our student welfare system complements the efforts of parents and teachers at a personal level, to make all students feel capable, confident and well supported. Our students enjoy a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, while maintaining strong academic performance. These activities include band, choir, dance, debating, speech, choral, poetry, chess and a variety of local and representative sporting opportunities. Provision is made for the extension of gifted and talented students across the full range of classes from Kindergarten to Year 6, while support is also provided for students with learning difficulties. Technology is used effectively to enhance students' learning. The school enjoys very positive and active support from its community, with parents integrally involved with class and school activities. The school's Parents and Citizens Association effectively supports the efforts of the school staff in providing the best possible facilities, resources and opportunities for the students.
