Lakemba Public School
Lakemba Public School is situated in South Western Sydney. The school serves an area of rich cultural diversity with 98% of the students coming from language backgrounds other than English. Over 40 languages are spoken by the families at the school. The predominant cultural groups are Arabic, Pakistani, Bengali, Indonesian and Vietnamese. The school has a team of dedicated staff who work collaboratively towards a shared vision of providing quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs to improve learning outcomes for all students. Future focused learning and student engagement through quality teaching and assessment for learning strategies underpin programs that prepare our students to live fulfilling, productive and responsible lives in a fast paced, technological global world. Wellbeing for all is a priority. A School as Community Centre (SaCC) was established at the school over 10 years ago to support families with children from nought to eight years of age make a successful transition to school. The centre is an integral part of the school and community.
