Kurnell Public School
Kurnell Public School is the centre of a unique community situated on the Kurnell peninsula of Botany Bay. At Kurnell PS we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and dynamic learning environment.We have high expectations and empower our students to achieve their personal best. We are in partnership with a committed community to prepare all students to become good citizens and lifelong learners. Dedicated and passionate staff work together and participate in continued professional learning to focus on improving student outcomes. Our quality teaching and learning programs will enable students to become successful 21st century learners.We have an experienced staff with a strong ethos of collaboration and willingness to accept change and embrace new challenges.Our learning programs are enhanced by the use of the local National Park and beaches. We collaborate with our local Community of Schools 'By the Sea' to focus on identified similar areas for improvement. Student wellbeing remains uppermost in school planning and is strongly underpinned by Kids Matter which umbrellas our many wellbeing programs. A priority of the school is to provide activities which broaden the children's experiences in the wider community. We successfully participate in a range of inter-school sport, creative & performing arts, academic competitions and public speaking.Our values of caring, inclusion, doing your best, respect and responsibility together with our positive reward system are a feature of the school.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories.
