Homebush Public School

Homebush Public School focusses on the learning and well-being of its students. Strong academic programs are balanced by cultural, sporting, recreational and social programs. We aim to develop well-rounded individuals who will positively contribute to our society and lead happy fulfilling lives. Our school is characterised by experienced, committed teachers and a community who strongly support education and the endeavours of the school. Homebush Public School has developed a strong learning ethos which is evidenced by students who have a genuine desire to excel in their studies, above average results in NAPLAN and a high proportion of students gaining entry to OC classes and Selective High Schools. Our school lies at the heart of the community it serves. Situated directly opposite Homebush Shopping Village, the school has developed strong relationships with local businesses and community organisations. Two community groups use the school facilities on weekends to hold language classes with a number of other organisations utilising the facilities throughout the week. Our student population directly reflects the wider community. 98% of our students have a language background other than English with Tamil, Chinese and Korean being the three major cultural groups represented. An important feature of the school is the Community Language Program which provides language instruction for students in Tamil, Chinese and Korean. Homebush Public School is a busy and happy place of learning. Teachers work hard to challenge students with academic programs and to provide a supportive learning environment. The office and support staff ensure that the school operates smoothly and provides administrative support for teachers. Our parents are wholehearted in their support for the school’s endeavours. Our students thrive academically, personally and socially in the supportive learning environment provided.
