Hampton Public School

Hampton Public School is a small rural school in the village of Hampton. It is a well-equipped, one teacher school of 21 students providing a caring personal and family atmosphere within a stimulating, challenging and beautiful environment. The aim of the school is to provide a balanced education for all students, providing programs which develop academic, social, physical and cultural excellence. At Hampton Public School all students participate in all activities, taking on leadership roles and responsibilities and engaging in challenging tasks both in and out of the classroom. The school aims to: develop a sense of community; care and responsibility for the environment; and the core idea that we belong, we care, we help each other, we make and keep commitments and we have pride in our school and ourselves. Hampton Public School staff members deliver innovative, quality literacy and numeracy programs with a strong focus on ICT and individualised learning programs to all students. We offer extensive and varied extra curricular activities including robotics, professional music tuition in cello, violin, keyboard and recorder, professional gymnastics instruction, touch typing program and visual art. We have a large computer lab, well equipped library, new BER classroom as well as magnificent mountain gardens with plantings of daffodils, rhododendrons and camellias. Our students have two large play areas including a COLA for wet weather access and fixed play equipment. Hampton Public School has a vegetable garden, worm farm, compost and chickens; students cook using our own produce. We are a member school of the Bathurst Small Schools Group and the Western Gateway Education Community, providing strong sporting and cultural links with our sister schools.
