Gunning Public School
Gunning Public School has built a strong tradition of providing quality education to the children of the town and surrounding rural areas, for the last 150 years. We are proud to be a positive behaviour school, where showing respect, learning well, staying safe and having fun are valued by students, staff and parents. The school is set in beautiful, spacious grounds and has excellent facilities with large classrooms, an assembly hall, rooms for science, craft and music, as well as a parent-operated canteen. All students are encouraged to achieve their maximum potential in a caring, stimulating environment. Special needs programs are integrated into mainstream classes, e.g. extension and learning support. Our students achieve strong academic results. Parents and members of the community are encouraged to become actively involved in the school through formal organisations such as the Parents and Citizens Association or through working with the staff in the classrooms and on the sporting fields for the educational benefit of our children.
