Guildford Public School
Guildford Public School is located on the traditional land of the Cabrogal People of the Darug Nation. Guildford Public School is committed to providing high quality educational programs to a diverse community with a focus on equitable access to learning and wellbeing for all students regardless of their cultural background, language, disability or special need. The school strongly believes in supporting and adding value to the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual domains of students and staff. Particular emphasis is placed on developing the Literacy and Numeracy skills of students, being an Early Action for Success school, while embedding the general capabilities of critical and creative thinking, personal and social capability, intercultural understanding, ethical understanding and use of innovative technologies to assist in 21st century learning. The educational process is assisted by positive relationships with the whole-school community, as we work together to assist all children reach their full potential. Guildford Public School embeds the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework to build resilient, active and informed future citizens. Our library is a dynamic centre of learning where students are given valuable opportunities to extend their knowledge and develop higher-order thinking skills. Performing Arts, Sport and integrated subjects across the New South Wales Curriculum, as well as supportive student wellbeing programs are consistently developed, delivered, monitored and critically evaluated by staff who understand the impact of building authentic relationships with students, parents and carers, and staff. Guildford Public School values high impact professional learning and the direct relationship it has with improved student performance and wellbeing. The school actively collaborates with neighbouring primary and high school staff in developing and delivering innovative professional learning experiences as well as intercultural experiences for students.
