Gravesend Public School
Gravesend Public School fosters a culture of recognition, celebration, equity and inclusiveness. In an environment of support, continuous learning for students and staff is fostered through on-going professional development and understanding of the learning process. The school is vigilant in its endeavours to cater to individual and community needs. A wide, balanced range of learning experiences is provided, incorporating involvement with other small rural schools, ensuring social interaction of students and a supportive network for staff. A strong emphasis is placed on literacy, numeracy and technology with individual and small group learning support. The whole school is administered as a team, inclusive of teaching, administrative and support staff. Each member of the staff demonstrates a high degree of commitment to the needs of the students and families in a small, relatively isolated rural school. The commitment of the staff extends well beyond the school to support the needs of the village and the wider district.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories.
