Woodport Public School
Woodport Public School enjoys the support of the community, with whom we work hard to achieve the best for our children. The school climate is happy and positive. Our facilities and grounds are modern and spacious with a wonderful balance of shaded areas and open playing fields. The school values and develops links between academic achievement, students' wellbeing and emotional and physical programs such as Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and You Can Do It. We aim to provide high quality educational opportunities for each and every child with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, with excellent results in these areas over many years. Our students benefit from access to modern technology with the use of Smartboards in every classroom, iPads and a dedicated multimedia room. Our highly regarded Kindy Start program, runs over two terms (15 weeks), offers children and their families a nurturing transition to school life. Woodport Public School provides opportunities for students from Kindergarten to Year Six, to participate in quality Creative and Practical Arts as well as sporting programs. The school has dance groups, choral programs and a band. The encouragement and support of personal best effort and continual improvement is clearly communicated in the school motto of 'Effort Brings Success'. Students are recognised and rewarded for both effort and success.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
