Ellerston Public School
Ellerston Public School is a small, isolated rural school situated near the source of the Hunter River beneath the Barrington Ranges. There is no township as such and we draw children from a wide geographical area. Families are involved with a mix of rural employment on private properties. There is strong community interest, support and involvement in the school. Our school's mission statement is, 'Our staff, students, parents and the wider community work in partnership to prepare the students for the future through quality learning in a happy, caring and safe environment'. We aim high and embrace the broader world with confidence, curiosity and selectivity. We have one small class and an experienced and committed teaching and ancillary staff. We believe we are well able to implement learning programmes that fully support each child's cognitive, social and emotional development.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
