Ellalong Public School
Ellalong Public School is located in the Lower Hunter Valley at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. It is situated 8 kilometres south of Cessnock and has a student population of 120. Ellalong Public School provides a solid foundation in student learning and promotes leadership in quality education based on quality teaching practices in all key learning areas. Embedded in our school culture are high expectations of student learning, acknowledgement and celebration of achievements, and regular communication between home and the classroom to promote a positive learning environment. Distinctive features of the school include open and collaborative relationships with parents and long-term partnerships with members of the wider community. Our school provides a range of opportunities in creative and performance arts and cultural and sporting activities and recognises and develops individual talents in these areas. We strongly promote safe, respectful learners through our Positive Behaviour for Learning system. Staff have a common and firm belief in the value of positive reinforcement of desired student behaviours to maximise learning outcomes.
