Crossmaglen Public School

Crossmaglen is a small, high achieving school that is the pride of the local community. It is located in the agricultural area around 20km SW of Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast NSW. The area is outstandingly beautiful with a mixture of agriculture, rainforest, rivers and hills. The area is appropriately named Bongil Bongil: The Land of Plenty. The students are motivated, active learners and are keen to seek opportunities to enhance their skills. The community plays an active and supportive role in the education of students and their friendly, regular involvement allows high quality, educational provision for all students. The yearly enrolment numbers vary, recently between 11-15 students. This allows for a deep level of interaction between students and staff, resulting in caring, genuine relationships that cater for individual needs of all students. All students are expected to strive for personal goals and continually seek improvement. The school is enhanced by the collaborative nature of staff and students.  The school implements numerous dynamic teaching and learning programs including core learning areas of literacy and numeracy as well as piano and instrumental music, cooking, gardening, technology, physical education, visual arts and drama. Students participate in regular camps and excursions and frequently contribute to local, regional and national events. The school is extremely well resourced and benefits from the ability to provide one to one computers for students, iPads, a beautiful outdoor classroom and a plethora of sporting equipment. The reputation of the school is one of friendly, motivated and enthusiastic students, all on a pathway of lifelong learning. The school motto is 'Learning for Life'.
