Corowa South Public School

Corowa South Public School is situated in Hume Street at the southern end of Corowa overlooking the Murray River. The school is located in a developing residential area, drawing its students from an urban and rural community with diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Student welfare in a family orientated community is a priority. The school's facilities are picturesque and attractively maintained providing an inviting, stimulating learning environment. The school has four full time classroom teachers who focus on literacy and numeracy programs. Specialist teachers are employed to cater for individual student needs and abilities. In 2008 the school was awarded a Director General's award for its' innovative Visual Arts Program. Colourful, unique murals and mosaics feature within the playground and gardens. The school offers an advanced Technology Program, featuring interactive whiteboards and specialist technology lessons. The school hosts innovative curriculum days in Environmental and Multicultural Education. Sport features highly, with the school co-ordinating the annual Corowa & District Super 8's Cricket Carnival. The school promotes a healthy and active lifestyle through numerous sporting programs and pathways for PSSA representation.
