Cobargo Public School
Cobargo Public School is located in the village of Cobargo on the NSW Far South Coast. The school offers extensive grounds in a rural setting. Our core values are: Respectful, responsible, safe and engaged learners. These expectations are reinforced by our school wide Positive Behaviours For Learning program. We believe that reinforcing the children for positive behaviour brings about the desired school climate. The school has a teaching principal and two further, experienced classroom teachers. We also have a Part-Time Librarian. Approximately 18% of students come from Aboriginal backgrounds. The local community is very supportive of the school. Special programs offered by the school include: a Student Parliament, a comprehensive sport program, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program and reading tutor programs, an extensive creative and performing arts program including a specialist music teacher. Cobargo School has recently benefited from infrastructure upgrades funded by the NSW Department of Education. The upgrades have provided the school with a very appealing, natural learning environment, including a bike track, remote control car track and tennis court.
