Carcoar Public School

Carcoar Public School is a PP6 School, serving the rural village of Carcoar on the Central Tablelands of NSW. The students attending the school come from both Carcoar and the surrounding district. The school has strong ties with the local community and works closely with the P&C.Our students are learning in a caring, positive and stimulating environment. We enjoy our learning at school under the Carcoar Public School banner; as well, we are part of the Heritage Schools group and the Heritage Small Schools team.  We have the best of all worlds.  Students are not isolated and are able to take part in broader learning activities with the larger schools, as well as our neighbouring small schools. Carcoar Public School is part of living history, nestled in the peaceful historic village of Carcoar; a much loved and respected village.  Well known for being the backdrop of many Australian television series; the Annual Carcoar Cup Running Festival and the Carcoar Australia Day Celebrations; well known for its untouched charm of historic buildings constructed into the landscape  and down on to the banks of the Belubula River. Carcoar, with its sleepy winding roads leading to a busy highway in less than a minute, and there you are in less than an hour, accessing great rural cities, which offer the best in secondary and tertiary education, access to Sydney through rail and air at your convenience. We provide an environment where children have the opportunity to enjoy their childhood dreams, to be able to play imaginatively, which, as research tells us, is a significant attribute for mathematicians and scientists who need creativity and problem solving skills; an environment where students continue to grow and be happy. Wellbeing of our Students, staff and parents is paramount.  We believe in positive behaviour for learning. We provide a vibrant and rich curriculum for all with students given the opportunity to experience variety in their learning through literacy, numeracy, athletics, swimming, technology, music, art, opportunity to visit local theatre productions, history, gardening, opportunities for local community participation.  Of course, none of these opportunities happen without the constant support of a positive staff, parents and citizens, who support us with great energy and enthusiasm. Kind regards, Beverley Cartwright, Principal
