Canobolas Public School

Canobolas Public School was established in 1878 in an orchard area six kilometres south west of Orange. It is a five-teacher school set in park-like grounds. New classrooms and library provide modern and practical learning spaces and visual contrast with the historic 19th century school building.    The school has always had a strong community bond and this continues to grow. Each child in the school is seen as an individual and the curriculum is planned accordingly to cater for each child's needs. Commitment to learning is valued, as is commitment to each other's success. Many opportunities are presented to students during their years at Canobolas including the chance to perform, compete and participate in events around the region and beyond. The school promotes excellence and encourages every child to achieve their personal best, every time. This is achieved by providing quality educational programs incorporating current technology in quality, supportive learning environments. Students are immersed in technology in its various forms on a daily basis. The school operates an outstanding concert band program for students in Years 3 to 6 in conjunction with Orange High School. Creative and Performing Arts are highly valued in our school context. Canobolas Public School belongs to the Orange Small Schools Association. Students participate in a wide range of curriculum opportunities created by this organisation including swimming and athletics carnivals, team sports and science days. Canobolas Public School has a well deserved reputation as a leader in gifted and talented education. The curriculum is expanded to include Tournament of the Minds, Robo Cup, Murder Under the Microscope, as well as University and DEC competitions and challenges. As a team we value excellence through endeavour; cooperative participation; hard work and diligence; friendship and loyalty; involvement and citizenship. Canobolas Public School is a small school with a big vision.
