Cammeray Public School
Cammeray Public School is located in an expanding residential area, close to the CBD of Sydney. The school is situated in an attractive and convenient location for families, leading to an increase in enrolments over recent years. The school values the richness and diversity of its student population. At Cammeray School our vision is to create a safe and caring learning environment that supports every student to grow and achieve their personal best as they strive for high standards and excellence in their learning. The school maintains a strong focus on curriculum through explicit planning and quality teaching. Support programs, extension programs and enrichment opportunities are embedded in the learning cycle. Students are given the opportunity to participate in band programs, sporting events, public speaking and debating programs, chess teams, choir groups and dance ensembles. Classrooms are well resourced with interactive whiteboards, laptops and iPads used as an integral part of 21 century learning. An exciting library environment has been created with the addition of a 'literary corridor' to support the availability of rich texts in all classrooms. Playground space is managed in a creative and innovative way. The school community have been involved in planning, building and maintaining environmental wetlands, vegetable gardens, playing fields, adventure areas and play gym equipment. The active involvement of parents has resulted in the creation of strong partnerships and exciting programs led by school community members.
