Bodalla Public School is a small school in a rural area, with modern large-school facilities. These include outdoor learning centres, a dedicated art studio, a computer lab, a state-of-the-art assembly hall, covered walkways, extensive grassed fields and shaded play areas. Our focus is to provide opportunities within a happy and caring environment, which will encourage students to strive for personal excellence. Our experienced, talented and dedicated staff provide traditional, innovative and flexible learning experiences. We focus strongly on the development and importance of literacy and numeracy skills whilst maintaining a balance between all key learning areas. Strong emphasis is placed on quality support and extension programs to enable every child to reach their full potential. Student learning is also enhanced through the use of modern technology, including laptop computers, a computer lab and interactive white boards. Bodalla Public School has a high level of parental and community involvement. Parents are involved in classroom activities and sporting events, and are an integral part of school organization and planning. At Bodalla Public School we aim to provide a safe, secure learning environment, free from bullying, harassment and intimidation. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and behaviour and follow and appreciate a set of core rules and values. Our student are involved in the Fun Friends and Friends For Life programs as part of our Discipline and Welfare policy. Demountables

Maintenance

To ensure the safety, reliability and longevity of our schools, every school across NSW receives maintenance. The Department undertakes preventative and routine maintenance every year, and repairs as needed. The Department also reviews the planned maintenance program for each school every year and reviews those items that are predicted to require work to help prolong the life of the school buildings and facilities.

Demountables

Demountables have been part of the NSW education system for many decades and will continue to be used across the state. Demountable classrooms are modern, air-conditioned rooms that provide students and teaching staff with excellent quality facilities. The learning spaces have the same range of technology that is available in permanent spaces. We review school accommodation needs each year, looking at changing enrolment patterns and other factors to prepare for the upcoming school year. This helps to identify schools that need new demountables and schools where they can removed. Most demountable movement takes place between October and February and we report our annual demountable statistics each April. Additional demountable installations can occur outside this window to support capital works and maintenance projects in schools or emergency responses to natural disasters.
