Blandford Public School

Since 1871, Blandford Public School has served the communities of Blandford and the Timor district in the Upper Hunter, providing a high quality, balanced education for all students. Our children live on rural properties as well as in the villages of Blandford and Murrurundi. Each of our students participates in all activities, taking on leadership roles and responsibilities and engaging in challenging tasks both in and out of the classroom. We work hard to develop a sense of community and to have concern and be responsible for the environment. We instil the core idea that we belong, we care, we help each other, we make and keep commitments and we have pride in our school and ourselves. We are honest, fair, tolerant, respectful and responsible members of our school and the wider community. Our experienced staff members deliver innovative literacy and numeracy programs with a focus on individual attention, and include quality teaching outcomes for all other key learning areas of the Australian curriculum. We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including: robotics, annual gymnastics and dance instruction, student vegetable garden, chooks, photography and visual art. Another important focus is the encouragement of a healthy and active lifestyle through healthy eating, fitness and physical skills programs. We offer daily PE activities based on the fundamental movement skills with a strong focus on sport.  Our school competes in the Upper Hunter Small Schools cross country, swimming and athletics carnivals as well as Zone and Regional events. Blandford Public School is a proud member school of the Invermein Small Schools Group and the Scone Learning Community, providing strong professional and cultural links with our sister schools.
