Bemboka Public School
Bemboka Public School is a community of learners where learning is recognised as ongoing for everyone, happens within the context of high expectations and success is celebrated regularly. Our aim is to provide a quality education which will support student growth in intellectual, social, physical, emotional and moral development. We are committed to the provision of quality education in a caring, challenging and collaborative atmosphere that is conducive to learning. The school has a focus on improving literacy and numeracy across all stages. As part of this continuous improvement there is a focus on improving teacher pedagogy through professional learning. Special features of the school include a kitchen garden program, woodwork, environmental programs supported by the Bournda Environmental Education centre, a school choir, a biennial school musical performance, up to date technology to support learning including wireless Internet access in every classroom and the library; and attractive and well appointed school grounds. Bemboka Public School provides a school leadership program involving all Year 6 students which includes an excursion to the Young Leaders conference in Sydney each year,The school participates in inter school swimming, cross country running, athletics and team sports such as hockey and soccer locally and in statewide small school competitions. The school provides a learning environment that is safe, stimulating and challenging to produce students who are creative, critical thinkers and problem solvers. The culture of respect for self and others has been developed through the implementation of the Fish Philosophy, which encourages everyone to recognise the value of others, stay focused on the task, learn with a sense of fun and make appropriate choices.
