Auburn West Public School
In 2009 our school community celebrated 75 years of quality education in a caring environment. Auburn West Public School is located next to the scenic Auburn Botanic Gardens. The school is recognised for the quality of its teaching and learning programs, and for the professionalism and enthusiasm of its staff. The core values of our school are respect, responsibility, care, cooperation & pride. An extensive support staff of English as a Second Language teachers, languages teachers & other specialists work collaboratively with class teachers to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for each student. A $7 million school building project was completed in 2004, resulting in modern, well-resourced classrooms and extensive grounds that enable children to learn and play harmoniously in facilities of the highest standard. Strong parent participation is evident across the school through our after school study centre and homework groups, pre-school playgroups, weekly parent group meetings and the School Council.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
