Annandale Public School

Annandale Public School, a growing and dynamic institution located in the inner west of Sydney, has a long and proud tradition of providing quality public education to the children of the Annandale community since 1886. The site comprises spacious, well-equipped playgrounds, heritage and modern buildings and well-resourced classrooms. There is a Pre-School, Early Intervention Unit, Before and After-School Care facility and Learning Garden within the grounds. We are dedicated to developing confident and independent life-long learners by providing all students with a range of varied and effective teaching and learning experiences in an inclusive, creative and supportive environment. Within this safe, caring and happy setting, high expectations drive improvement in student outcomes. Each child is given opportunities to maximise skills in academic, artistic, cultural and sporting domains and to develop their leadership potential. High standards of teaching and learning have always been the school's core business. The committed and dedicated staff is complemented by its constructive interaction with school families, close involvement with the wider community and positive relationship with the student body. The school provides comprehensive programs in the Key Learning Areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts, and Health, Personal Development, Health & Physical Education. These are augmented by strong welfare and integration programs. In addition, our students enjoy the opportunity to develop interests and skills in a wide range of pursuits including computer technology, gardening and environmental issues, Italian language lessons, student leadership, debating, public speaking, band, choir and performance-standard recorder. Annandale Public School takes pride in being an establishment committed to continuous improvement. We believe our school community is effective because of the active and respectful partnership between the staff, students and their families, and the high quality of programs offered.
