The school was established in 1850 and continues to be held in high esteem by the Albury community. We currently have an enrolment of 574 students and a staff which includes 39 teachers. Our enthusiastic teaching staff are a mix of experienced teachers and younger temporary teachers. Our staff are strongly committed to high student expectations, personal excellence and quality teaching practices. Albury Public School strives to ensure each child achieves their potential in academic, social and physical activities. Special programs include various transition programs, biennial whole school musical, biennial whole school Fete, Student Council and Year 6 Leadership Team, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and a wide range of sporting opportunities. We believe that the informed use of progressive technology will promote active and exciting learning. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and wireless connectivity. Students have access to laptops in the classroom and to three computer laboratories. Our school considers the relationship between home and school to be instrumental in student success. Common understandings and clear communication are established through student reporting, newsletters, parent evenings and parental involvement in class programs. Students are motivated to achieve their personal best in all areas and develop a love of learning. Staff are encouraged to pursue quality professional learning opportunities to ensure Albury Public School delivers programs of the highest standard. As a member of the Crossing Point Learning Community, we have strong links to other local public schools and our partner high school, fostering excellence, opportunity and success for all of our students.
